Bridging Distances, Building Relationships
At WRDC, we know that strong relationships are key. We don’t want to be just another name in your inbox or a program you’re unsure about. That’s why we’re hitting the road to visit as many land-grant institutions (LGIs) as possible, face-to-face, to learn about your goals, challenges, and vision. Your success is our mission, and we’re here to support you.
In September, we hit the road across southern and eastern Montana, covering over 500 miles to visit four LGIs: Montana State University, Little Big Horn College, Chief Dull Knife College, and Fort Peck Community College. A big thank you to the Extension staff, faculty, administrators, and partners who welcomed us, shared insights, provided feedback on WRDC programs and helped us better understand your communities and programs!
One key takeaway from our visits to 1994 LGIs was the desire for more networking and resource sharing among peer institutions. In response, WRDC will host Community Catalyst Conversations, periodic Zoom calls designed to strengthen collaboration among western 1994 LGIs. Interested in joining? Email us at wrdc@uidaho.edu to get updates on upcoming calls.
Next up: Arizona and New Mexico in November! We’re excited to meet more of our LGI colleagues and learn about your community development efforts. Haven’t had a visit yet? We hope to visit many more of you in 2026. Watch for an email about scheduling when we’ll be in your part of the world or send us an invite if there’s a time that works better for your team.
