2025 Northwest Community Development Institute
Registration is now open for the 2025 Northwest Community Development Institute, or NWCDI. This gathering of planners, civic leaders, and community and economic developers meets one week each year over the 3-year course period to build skills and networks that help participants tackle local challenges.
This year’s course takes place the week of July 21–25 at the beautiful Riverside Hotel in Boise

Starting this year, the Western Rural Development Center is collaborating with NWCDI leaders and our Extension partners to expand the scope and impact of the training to rural champions throughout the Western U.S. and U.S. Territories in the Pacific Basin, including Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
We have a great lineup of veteran and new presenters ready to explore what works to build stronger communities through civic engagement, informed policy, and supportive peer networks. This popular professional development experience is designed by and for those interested in creating healthy, stable, and vibrant communities and economies.
